This is something like an elevated tent that isn't exactly elevated enough to be called a tree house, but it is at a height that doesn't need you to use a ladder to get in. It can be freely suspended in the air or it can be anchored to the ground. It is a well known nemesis to have insects and pests irritate you when you go out camping. This can restrict easy access to them. As far as bear attacks are concerned, well, you probably may just appear as a bee in a giant bee hive to Mr. Grizzly.
